Carnival Pride—Baltimore round-trip to the Bahamas (Nassau, Princess Cays, Freeport)
December 2-9, 2018
Come join our intimate and super-friendly group of Daddies, admirers and friends aboard the Carnival Pride for another Daddy Cruise. This year, we make a dramatic escape from cold, snowy Baltimore and head to warmer weather in the Bahamas. We'll take advantage of low fares in between Thanksgiving and Christmas so just about anyone can afford to take a much-needed breather between the holidays. Added convenience: all our stops are in English speaking locales!
Exclusive extras for our group only:
We sail out of Baltimore on the Carnival Pride. With a covered pool, this ship will be perfect for our journey from the mid-Atlantic cold to the Bahamian warmth in December. CruiseCritic gives Carnival Pride 4 out of 5 stars overall. They love the Sanctuary, an adults-only quiet area that boasts its own pool, bar, hot tub and other facilities. The food is "very good" with a wide variety of menu items "from gorge worthy to spa simple; ample portions are presented beautifully." Carnival's low-carb menu is popular with diet-conscious passengers, but I favor Guy Fieri's Burger Joint—the best burgers at sea, or land! My other favorite is the Blue Iguana Cantaina—an upscale taco and burrito bar with all the fixings. New will be Bonsai Sushi—an Asian restaurant with authentic, fresh sushi. All this deliciousness is included in your cruise fare!
Our main hangout will be the Alchemy Martini Bar, where trained mixologists whip up concoctions on the spot—off the menu as well as newly created just for you! Afterhours, attend a stunning show in the grand Normandie theater, or head to the Punchliner Club, featuring top-notch comedians, different every night.
Once we get to the warm weather, you'll want to try out WaterWorks, Carnival's onboard water park. Beyond the usual pools and hot tubs, there's the Twister Waterslide—hundreds of feet of fast spiraling twists and turns to the pool below. Or, get wet with the Power Drencher—a huge bucket that dumps hundreds of gallons of water in one quick flip. The ultimate? Green Thunder—a dramatic 35-foot water tube drop that will simply take your breath away!
Day 1 - Baltimore
The fun begins the moment you board the Carnival Pride—which has been deigned from bow to stern for your fun and enjoyment. As we sail out of Baltimore, we'll gather for a hosted LetsCruiseAway Party where you'll meet your fellow cruisers and start making new friends right away. We'll slowly cruise the Chesapeake Bay before heading out to the open Atlantic.
Day 2 - At Sea
Our first full day is at sea. Relax, unwind and get into vacation mode. Lounge on your private balcony or near one of the pools, or maybe even find a quiet nook to settle in with a book. Want to be more active on your day at sea? Play bingo, work out at the gym, scale the rock climbing wall, watch a movie, dance all night, attend a cooking seminar, soak in a hot tub, watch a sunset (or a sunrise), crawl the rope walk, play trivia games, sing along at the piano bar, do some wine tasting, check your email or surf the internet, grab a snack, watch live entertainment, get lucky in the casino, indulge in a spa treatment, play bingo, go bowling (yes, on board!), catch a game in the sports bar, and on and on.
Day 3 - At Sea
Another fun filled day at sea. All that stuff you didn't do above? Today's the day to fit it in!
Day 4 - Princess Cays, Bahamas
Our first stop is Carnival's private resort, Princess Cays, where you'll enjoy an exclusive Carnival beach party. Lounge chairs, umbrellas, and towels are all provided on the 40- acre resort shoreline. So is a full beach barbeque lunch (no need to run back to the ship for free food!). Nature is the key feature if you want to get active: kayaking, fishing, swim with the dolphins and much more. Otherwise, relax and soak up the rays.
Day 5 - Nassau, Bahamas
The capital of the Bahamas, Nassau lies on a hilly island and is known for its beaches and off-shore coral reefs. Here's your chance to go snorkeling or scuba diving. Maybe swim with the dolphins or sting rays (they're safe!). Get the ultimate water park thrills at the Atlantis Aquaventure—140 acres of endless water fun. Less strenuous options include submarine rides and glass bottom boat rides. No matter how you do it, you will enjoy the tropical waters here!
Day 6 - Freeport, Bahamas
Not ready to go back to the cold, so one last stop in the Bahamas, this time Freeport. Like elsewhere, natural beauty abounds. Visit Lucayan National Park to see an extensive underground cave system, one of the largest in the world. They filmed 'Pirates of the Caribbean' on the beaches here (now if only Johnny Depp were going to be there to say hi!). Less touristy than Nassau, Freeport is where you can wander a bit to see the "real" Bahamas—shops, cafes, and bars all beckon.
Day 7 - At Sea
After all this, you'll be ready for another full day at sea, either to relax…or to energize one more time!
Day 8 - Baltimore
When we get back to Baltimore, you'll be relaxed and rejuvenated, all ready for end-of-year holiday madness!
